Two ways to create ombre die-cut sentiments

Hello, it's Verity with another video and blog post as a Creative team member for WOW! So I've been playing about the with the WOW! Flocks and I couldn't help but use them again on another card. This time I've used them with my die cuts to create an Ombre look and I love how it turned out! However, if you've not got any flock yet, I'm showing you how to achieve an Ombre look with your heat embossing too. These sentiments look so good that they can take centre stage on your card with a simple background. So let's get started!

Card 1: Ombre with Sparkles/Flock

For this first card, add a double-sided adhesive sheet to one side of a card panel. Next, use the Altenew Fancy Celebrate die and die cut this out, making sure the adhesive is on the front of the die-cut.

Now removed the adhesive back and cover the lower third with WOW! Black Onyx Essential Sparkles. Return any excess sparkles back into the container. Repeat covering the middle third with WOW! Graphite Essential Sparkles ensuring this overlaps with the Black Onyx. 

For the last upper third of the die-cut, cover with WOW! Bright Blue Flock. All of the sparkles and flock will stick to adhesive on the die-cut. 

To ensure the sparkles and flock stay put, use the left over backing from an adhesive sheet and place of the top of the die-cut. Use your bone folder to burnish the sparkles and flock down into the adhesive. In addition, also gently heat set the flock with your heat gun. 

To create the card, dry emboss the Altenew Grid Cover die into a white card base. Adhere the Ombre die-cut sentiment onto the front and finish with a small sentiment from the Altenew Modern Greetings stamp set. 

Lastly embellish with a few coordinating sequins. 

Card two: Ombre using heat embossing

For this card we will use heat embossing with Sparkles to create an Ombre die-cut sentiment.

Smoosh your WOW! Clear drying embossing ink pad down into the lower half of another Altenew Fancy Celebrate die-cut. Cover this with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder and heat set.

To add the sparkle, again add embossing ink, this time only to the bottom of the die-cut. We need to make this sticky to add the WOW! Sparkles. To do this, cover with WOW! Bonding powder.

Next, heat set the bonding powder just like regular embossing powder. When heat set it turns stick and remains like this for a while so cover with WOW! Mola Mola Earth Sparkles. 

For this card, the Altenew Grid Cover die was die-cut out of Hero Hues Nautical cardstock and adhered to a white card base. Another smaller sentiment was added to the front and embellished with gold matt sequins.
