Blowing Bubbles by Jaine Drake

As you may have gathered from my last few posts I'm fascinated by faux finishes and colours. This next project and my final one as a guest designer for April, is just the same as I've tried to create bubbles as the backdrop for my seahorses.

Bubbles are little rainbows of coloured light which sparkle and shine as they catch a light source. The three main colours I chose to recreate this look were a teal, pink and yellow. Soft pastel colours work well as bubbles are delicate things and the colours are subtle. The die cut I used is from StudioLight but the same effect can be done on a stamped image or die cut rings perhaps.

For my colours I chose Razzleberry and Lemon Sorbet from the Summer Scoops Trio and The Real Teal from the Toteally Amazing Trio. After adding embossing ink I sprinkled the pink and yellow in a few patches then added the teal to the rest. It just gives a little hint of colour like real bubbles do.

The seahorses were the perfect partner embossed with the Gilded powder from the Toteally Amazing Trio.

A simple cluster of stickers finish this card off easily.
