Treat Bag + Gift Card Holder with Karen Reátegui

Hello friends! I'm so glad to be back here and this time as the Guest Designer for the month of February and the theme we'll be working on is "Coffee". Can't anyone resist a good cup of coffee? I can't! The project I have created for today is something different but so fun to make, a treat bag with a gift card holder inside. I thought this is a beautiful and sweet way to give a gift card to somebody. You can also put some chocolates inside. And for this project I have used the new release and the colors are the following: Mojito, Strawberry Daiquiri and Minty. I really hope you like this.

Let's shine! I created this treat bag using a die and patterned from Cartabella Spring Market paper pad.  . This bag was very easy to put together. Any treat box/bag would work for this project so use whatever you have in hand. I will be basically decorating one of the fronts from this bag.

As you can see here, the first thing I added was a paper rosette as my base and also this will help me to get more dimension. Making paper rosettes are very easy and fun to make, however, if you don't know how to make paper rosettes you can buy them at crafty stores.

Next, I stamped the Sponsored by Coffee Stamp using Gingerbread Wood 2 Hybrid Ink from Scrapbook.com then, I die cut it using the matching die and placed it on top of the paper rosette that I added before. Additionally, I die cut a pair of leaves using the Leafy Branch Die from Pinkfresh Studio. I applied WOW! Embossing Pad on those leaves and heat embossed them using WOW! Strawberry Daiquiri Embossing Glitter. I placed the heat embossed leaves at the top and bottom part of the paper rosette. In addition, I added some gold thread on top of the coffee stamped image.

I also, die cut two coffee words using Picket Fence Studios Coffee Word die.
One was die cut out of Gold Mirror paper and it was used as a shadow. Then, the other word was die cut out of white cardstock and I applied WOW! Embossing Pad on top and I heat embossed it with WOW! Mojito Embossing Glitter. I adhered the gold coffee die cut at the back using glue and added it on top of the gold thread.

For my sentiment I used a sticker sentiment and behind it I adhered a piece of cardstock that I heat embossed using WOW! Minty Embossing Glitter. And below the sentiment I added a piece of this pink ribbon that gave a nice texture to this front layout. Now the bag is totally decorated.

Let's jump into the gift card holder and to create it I used a tag die and Lawn Fawn Diagonal Gift Card Pocket. The paper patterned I used is from Cartabella Spring Market paper pad.

The smallest pieces from the Lawn Fawn Diagonal Gift Card Pocket were heat embossed using WOW! Strawberry Daiquiri and Minty Embossing Glitters. Once the pocket was put together I glued it on top of the tag. Now gift card holder is also ready!

Here's a closer look of the gift card holder peaking out of the bag. It fits perfectly and as I mentioned before there's room to put some chocolates or candies inside the treat bag.

I really hope you enjoyed this project and got some inspiration. I really recommend you trying the new embossing glitters, they are great products and the colors are just wonderful. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Your friend,
Karen
