Glitter Awesomeness with Karen Reategui

Hello crafty friends! Today I'm sharing a very fun and easy technique with Glitter and Stencil. I made two cards out of one and the stencil is from Picket Fence Studios Brocade, the Waterbrush Hello Die is from Altenew and the sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Simple Strips Friendship Stamp and Die. Also, for these two cards I'm featuring WOW! Girls Best Friend Sparkles Glitter and WOW! Jade Sparkles Glitter. The results from this technique are absolutely gorgeous so you can't go wrong with this!

Let's shine! To create the background of my first card I added double sided tape to an A2 panel. I removed the release paper and saved it for later. I took the Brocade Stencil from Picket Fence Studios and applied Pixie Spray to it, then I placed it on top of the panel.

I laid down the release paper on top of the panel and rubbed on the stencil using a bone folder to make sure it is very well stuck to the panel, that way the glitter won't get behind the stencil. Then, I added the WOW! Girls Best Friend Sparkles Glitter on top. I tap to shake off the excess of glitter and placed again the release paper on top and using the bone folder I pressed the glitter into the adhesive.

Next, I carefully removed the stencil and applied WOW! Jade Sparkles Glitter on top. I shook off the excess and again the release paper was placed on top to rub on the stencil, making sure the glitters is held by the adhesive. As my following step I die cut the center of this panel using the Altenew Nesting Labels Die Set. I reserved this part for my next card.

I adhered a white folded note card at the back of the panel using glue. Additionally, I die cut the Waterbrush Hello Die out of glitter paper and two more times out of white cardstock. I glued all pieces one on top of each other and added this stack of hellos at the center of the panel.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment using WOW! Embossing Pad and heat embossed it with WOW! Metallic Gold Embossing Powder. I added this strip to my panel and this first card is finished.

For the second card, I started by die cutting a piece of white glitter paper using one of the Altenew Nesting Labels Die Set. I adhered this die cut to a white folded note card using glue.

Next, using double sided foam tape I added on top of the white glitter die cut, the piece that I was saving from my first card.

Here you can take a look at all the glitter awesomeness. And it's even more gorgeous in person.

The strip sentiment was added on top and it was heat embossed using WOW! Metallic Gold Embossing Powder. And for the last touch of shine and to finish this card, a few sequins were added.

Capturing glitter on pictures is hard, so these pics don't make justice but honestly the glitter looks amazing! Please give this technique a try, you are going to love it! Thank you so much for stopping by and have an amazing week!

Your friend,
Karen
