Blue Pearl Cozy Plaid with Gemma

Today I have a card showing how the Pearl embossing powders work on different colours of cardstock. I love that with just one powder, you can achieve so many different tones.

I used the Blue Pearl powder to make a masculine card. I stamped the Hello Bluebird Cozy Plaid background stamp with WOW clear embossing ink on 3 panels of cardstock - a black, dark grey and light grey. I then embossed each panel with the Blue Pearl embossing powder.

I cut each panel into 3 pieces, then adhered one of each on my card base. To add interest, I adhered a thin strip of a contrasting embossed card between the panels. As I have some embossed panels left over, I can make another card with them, which is always a bonus.

Next, I die cut the Hello Bluebird Happy Birthday word die twice from white card stock and once from a blue patterned card, layering the pieces for a stacked sentiment. I adhered the birthday word on the card.

To finish the sentiment, I embossed 'wishes' from the Hello Bluebird Just Sayin’ stamp set on to a piece of light grey card, using Opaque Bright White embossing powder. I layered this onto some dark grey card, then adhered this underneath the stacked die cut.

I love how striking the pearl powder is on the darkest layers, but also I love the more tone on tone look on lighter card. I think the pearl powders are a must-have!

Have a lovely day,
Gemma
