VIDEO: Rainbow Foliage Cards with Erica

Hi guys!

Welcome back to the WOW! Embossing blog, it's Erica here with a couple of cards for this month's theme: Rainbow! My favourite, no joke. There is a video tutorial over on the WOW! YouTube channel too if you fancy watching that.

I have used an array of Catherine Pooler inks to create two-toned leaves. The stamps are also Catherine Pooler, and the set is called Leave Me In Paradise. With the help of my black Hero Arts Mini MISTI I stamped up the leaves with two shades of each colour. To make these a little bit more leaf-like I heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I wasn't overly bothered about making these perfect, in fact, I think they look fab with the sparse coverage. Almost like water droplets.

The colours I used for the leaves are Limoncello and Tiara for the yellow ones. Melon Ice and Lime Rickey for the green ones. Bellini and Samba for the coral/orange ones. Sweet Sixteen and Royal Treatment for the purples and It's A Girl and Party Dress for the pinks. All That Jazz and Daydream for the teals and It's A Boy and Suede Shoes for the blue ones.

For the backgrounds I wanted to do something quite simple but create some texture. I used the Plank Background from SSS and heat embossed it directly onto card bases. One in Opaque Bright White and one in Metallic Gold Rich.

To put the cards together I arranged the same type of leaf, in a rainbow order, on the backgrounds. These pieces I then picked up with the help of some Press'n'Seal and adhered to the cards with glue. A simple, but wonderful sentiment from Neat & Tangled, 'email is good, but letters are better' was heat embossed in white on back card stock. These were cut out with a banner diecut and adhered to the cards with foam tape.

I could have stopped here but oh no.. I added a generous helping of Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. These were adhered with some liquid glue from Lawn Fawn and then the cards were done!

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed this post. Now it's your turn to turn in your projects in the Facebook group! You can win a $25 gift voucher to the WOW! shop if you win.

Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica
