Hey there!! Daniel West, here again from Del & Artie with another love-inspired project with WOW! Embossing Powders. I have featured my favorite powders this month and today I continue in the same vein with Skylight. This powder comes in a Trio called Bundled Up, inspired by Catherine Pooler's spa collection inks: Skylight, Sage and Peppermint Scrub.
I had no plan when I started this card. I enjoy making cards with detailed sketches, but sometimes, I like to throw caution to the wind and see where I end up. First, I ink blended a panel of cardstock with Catherine Pooler Inks: Eucalyptus, Skylight, Daydream and Queen for a Day. Next, I spritzed it with water and let the inks react and dry again. Then, I used the Lava Lamp Cover Plate Die to create a die cut design for behind the birds. This cover plate die is being released the morning of this post's publishing at 9AM Eastern Time as part of Catherine Pooler's "In the Kitchen Collection."
Next, I used a blending brush to color another panel with Skylight Ink entirely. I brushed on some clear embossing ink and covered the panel with Skylight embossing powder. Then, I heated up my heat tool and began melting the powder from below the card and everything melted beautifully. (Actually, I forgot to do that and instead, I blew all the powder everywhere and had to vacuum up my desk and clothes. It was then I remembered to melt the powder from below first, because it has chunks and flecks of gold and white in it.)
Then, adhered the die cut panel to the front of the heat embossed panel with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive. Since this month's theme has us all feeling romantic, I grabbed my Catherine Pooler Happy Together Stamp Set and stamped out two love birds on a branch with Queen for a Day and Royal Treatment inks. Then, I ran the image through my Brother Scan N Cut and popped it up on the front of the panel.
Finally, to finish off the card, I glued some Jelly Drop Hearts on the front. I heat embossed a sentiment from the Concord & 9th Little Love Tags Stamp Set in Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. Then I fussy cut it out and adhered it to the branch between the two love birds.

I love the beautiful embossing powders you have used, and the lava lamp coverplate over the top works brilliantly and such cute birds too. A great card!
