Glam Heat Embossing with Jenny

Hi Everyone, Jenny here, and today I have a card for you that features neutral embossing powders and shimmer to create a glamorous embellished card with no sentiment :o

There's a video showing you the process to create this card which you can check out over on the WOW! Embossing YouTube channel here:

To create my card, I first added WOW! Embossing Clear Ultra Slow Drying ink all over a panel of black cardstock and then heat embossed it in WOW! White Pearl embossing powder.  This gives a lovely pearlescent sheen to the cardstock, almost silver if you tilt it in the light.

I then diecut the PinkFresh Studio GeoFloral coverplate die four times from 110lb cardstock. I adhered three of them together with spray adhesive.  For the fourth one, I inked it up with embossing ink and then heat embossed with WOW! Neutral Ultra Shimmer for a subtle sparkle before then adhering it over the top. I adhered the entire piece with liquid adhesive (sticks better to embossing) to the black / pearl panel and adhered it all to a white card base.

To embellish the card, I added Iridescent Bubbles by Studio Katia on to the centre of the florals in the coverplate.  Then rather than adding a sentiment on the front (I added one inside) I added a die cut frame - I used the Altenew Mid Century Frame die cut from brushed silver cardstock, then added it to the front with liquid glue.

I hope this gives you some inspiration on how you can glam up your cards using embossing powder - there are lots of other WOW! powders that are also super glam but I just love the White Pearl for that understated glamour.

  1. This shimmery cover die looks great against the pretty pearl background and crowned with the beautiful ornate brushed silver circle die, and the iridescent bubble gems are great as a finishing touch. A super card Jenny. x
