Tone-on-Tone-on-Tone!

Hi there! Emily Midgett back with you today for my second guest post for WOW! Embossing! Today, I have a pretty, feminine card for you using lots of pretty peachy-pink and even some sparkles, so let's get started with the details!

I began by heat embossing that absolutely gorgeous Rebecca Lace background from Simon Says Stamp using WOW's Soft Mango embossing powder on some beautiful Peony (SSS|EH) card stock. The Peony card stock is a lovely shade of soft pink, and the Soft Mango is just a tad darker shade of coral, which makes for a very pretty tone-on-tone combination! This stamp is also super detailed, and the WOW embossing powder picked up every single detail just beautifully.

I wanted a sparkly greeting, so I created some custom glitter card stock using the WOW Bridal Sparkles. I began by adding some 1" Scor Tape (a heavy duty tape adhesive) to some card stock, then die cut the lovely "smile" (SSS|EH) from The Stamp Market from this adhesive card stock. I removed the die cut from the card stock, then peeled off the release paper. I covered the sticky side of the die cut with the Bridal Sparkles, pressing down with my fingers to make sure that they were really stuck down into the adhesive. Super sparkly! Because I hate getting glitter all over the place (and I know my friends aren't fans of it, either), I also covered the top of the die cut with some Nuvo Crystal Glaze (SSS|EH) to prevent flecks of glitter from flying off.

I added a beautiful peachy-pink peony (from The Stamp Market's Floral Bouquet SSS|EH) that I colored with my Copic markers. I popped it up on the lace background using foam tape, then added the glittery greeting and a sentiment strip, as well as a few sequins and sparkles to really finish the feminine feel to this project.

Well, that's all for me today! I want to thank Marion and the folks at WOW! for having me as their guest this month. I absolutely adore the products from this company, so it was a privilege to be able to share my work with them on their blog. Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a marvelous day!

  1. I love this card Emily and the background stamping goes perfectly with the beautiful peony, and such a pretty colour, and the glittery die cut sentiment looks great with it. x
