Hi everyone,

It’s Emma Godfrey here with a stylish (well I think so!) gift idea.

I’ve created a piece of art to fit inside an IKEA frame – perfect for a personalised present. 

I did this by first making a simple mixed media background with ink stenciled through sequin waste and layering paints using a brayer. I then stamped WOW French Music Clear Stamp Set with a grey ink pad, and one of the triangles from WOW Let It Snow (by Marion Emberson) Clear Stamp Set with a blue ink pad.

I embossed the WOW Hexagons Clear Stamp Set with WOW Metallic Platinum Embossing Powder, the WOW Flights Of Fancy Clear Stamp Set with WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder and the little dots from WOW Let It Snow (by Marion Emberson) Clear Stamp Set with WOW Earthtone Pepper Embossing Powder. I also sprinkled some WOW Platinum and Earthtone Pepper Embossing Powders randomly onto the background (and heated them from underneath so that they didn’t blow away). I added some white paint dots to lighten the background up.

I die-cut the word and leaves from cardstock that was covered with a double sided sticky sheet. After peeling the sticky sheet away, I covered the leaves and letters with WOW Celebration Sparkles Glitter. I positioned everything in the frame and then stuck it all together.

    Hi Tracy. The frame is an IKEA frame and is 10"x 10". I just cut my background to fit in the aperture - which I think was about 5". I can't measure it exactly as I've given it away as a present! x
