WOW! Embossing Powder and UmWow Blog Hop: DAY 3 (LAST DAY) COMMENTS CLOSED

Good Morning Crafters!

Welcome to Day 3 of our blog hop with UmWow Studio!  UmWowStudio is a family owned business out of Las Vegas, NV. They specialise in laser cut chipboard embellishments and masks for the paper crafting and mixed media community.

Today we have THREE amazing designers: Sandie, Nikki and Nicole on our blog sharing cards that on the blog using WOW! and UmWow product. We love how those embellishments look embossed!

Hi everyone. For my projects today I made 2 cards featuring the UmWow Studio chipboard & stencils, and WOW! Embossing stamps and powders.

On this first card I used the  Brick stencil and modelling paste to create a brick background on some white card. I added a single strip of striped patterned paper on which I stuck the Make a Wish Flair button.

I left the Butterfly Confetti naked and used a few different sizes around the bricks. I finished the card with a sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments clear stamps set.

On my second card I featured the Balloon chippies, and embossed them with VioletFuchsia Fusion and Glacier Mint powders. I used the Ranger Emboss It dabber to apply the embossing ink to just where I wanted it, so that I could emboss individually. For the balloon ribbons I used Chocolate Caramel Pearl. I tied some baker's twine around the bottom of the balloons and stamped a sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments clear stamps set.

For this hexagon card I used Ebony, Black Twinkle and Black Russian to create a striking honeycomb effect. Perfect for those tricky male cards.

For the Cloud Card: The clouds in the sky finish off this card while adding a 3d element. The clouds are embossed with 2 layers of Vodka Sparkle and then 2 layers of White Pearl. Once you have done your final layer, reheat the embossing powders. As the powders become liquid they will mix an swirl creating a fab cloud effect.

These products are amazing together and have been fantastic to create with.

I love using embossing powders on wood veneers for cards. I thought those small star wood veneers from UmWow would be perfect to use with WOW embossing powders and create shaker cards. I simply inked up those stars with Versamark ink pad and dipped them in the Florescent Tickled Pink embossing powder. I added few clear, pink, and red sequins along with those embossed stars and made a shaker card. These embellishments add nice dimensions to any cards!

Thank you for stopping by!

Handy Stamp Storage Idea

Hello everyone... Happy Tuesday! :D

It's Sarah here with today's blog post created for our Monochromatic theme.

I don't know about you, but I always find I need to use stamps from a mixture of stamp sets and I thought it would be easier if I didn't have to slide each stamp set in and out of the packets all of the time.

I have a bunch of empty CD cases that I had almost thrown out but thankfully I hadn't as they turned out to be the perfect solution! The part that holds the CD easily popped out so I could then position my different stamp sets within them.

I found an old wooden CD box but it had no lid and as all clear acrylic stamps are best stored out of the light, I decided I would make a box lid for it... not just a plain lid though... a Wow Embossed box lid!

Here are brief instructions on how to make it:

Using pearl silver card, I created a square to the size that I needed (145mm) and added 30mm wide rectangles around the square adding in some t…

Life's A Beach

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well and getting very creative this month!
As this month's challenge is summer and I live on an island it seemed only natural that my inspiration card would feature sea and sand.
To create my beach scene I started off with a piece of pale blue card and a rubbed a Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad across the top several times. I then sprinkled WOW Peppermint Tea Powder and Under The Sea Glitter over the top, tapped off the excess and melted with a heat tool. I created the sand underneath using Gold Pearl Powder.

For the sea I ran a line of PVA glue in the middle of the sky and sand with my finger, sprinkled with Under The Sea Glitter and melted with a heat tool. For the waves I added small areas of PVA straight from the nib of the bottle when added Opaque White Powder.

The birds and sentiment I have used Opaque British Summer Powder which is one of my favourite new powders, great colour and great name!
Finally, I added beach in…
