A little bit of mixed media fun

Hello all.  I hope you have enjoyed the blog hop with Wow and Ruby Rock-It.  If you have not gone and had a look I highly recommend you do.  Today I have a layout to share with you using some mixed media technique.   I had so much lovely Ruby Rock-It product left over that I have used it in this layout.

For this project I have started by using a mask and a versamark pad.  Applied the versamark by pressing down into the mask.  This can be a bit tricky if you don't have a moist pad.  I then added a mixture of two embossing powders,  both light in colour as I did not want the background to over power the photo.  The colours I used in this project are special edition Dune and gobi.  I then heat set  the embossing powders.

You can see in this close up that the powders do not leave a complete colour, but leaves the shape that I had used from the mask.  If you would like to add another layer to the back ground.  Wow has some amazing colours available in foils.   Foils can be applied in many ways,  one of my favourite ways is to re-heat the embossed area and very quickly lay your foil over top and rub.  This leaves a distressed look rather than a full image foiled .

One of my all time favourite techniques to do with Wow embossing powders is to used it in moulds.  I have used a mixture of melt it powder,  black and copper in a melting pot to create my twigs.

Thanks for popping by.  Have an awesome weekend, remember if you have not done the hop, you still have a bit of time.  xox Donna

  1. Wonderful layout, the colours aren't classic for a baby page but I love the nature inspired look. The embellishments and embossing/foiling details are gorgeous too but the sweetest of all is the baby picture!
