Dry Embossing Italian Adventure with Jenny Colacicco

Hi Everyone, I hope you're all having a wonderful February - is it cold where you are? It's still chilly here in New York, with fog and the odd snow flurry.  So to warm myself up I picked out the amazing new WOW! Trio released today - Italian Adventure! This is three gorgeous embossing glitters named after glorious hot spots in Italy - Amalfi, Sorrento and Capri.

I decided to create two cards with Capri and Amalfi using dry embossing with embossing folders of custom glitter cardstock made with the embossing glitters.  I love this look and it works particularly well with 3D embossing folders.

I created a video of the process which you can see over on YouTube or below.

For both cards, I inked up a panel of WOW! cardstock with WOW! Embossing ink by swiping the ink pad over the cardstock then pouring the embossing powder over the panel and heating it with my heat tool. For my first card I used the Amalfi embossing glitter which is my favorite from the trio, such a gorgeous variety of powders in one little pot!  For my second I used Capri which is a beautiful bright green and gold.

I dry embossed each of the glittered panels with 3D embossing folders by We R Memory Keepers,  I think they may be discontinued now but there are other 3D embossing folders out there (Spellbinders, Tim Holtz).

To complete the Amalfi card, I die cut the Triangle Collage Die by Erin Lee Creative twice from 110lb cardstock.  I then coated one in embossing ink and heat embossed in WOW! Metallic Silver Embossing Powder.  I popped them up on a strip of foam tape behind heat embossed sentiments (from Taylored Expressions) to create a floating look.

For my Capri card, I stamped an image from Altenew's Vase Fillers in pale green Firefly Altenew Crisp ink using my  MISTI.  I then inked it up with WOW! Embossing ink, dabbed it a little with my finger, and then stamped directly over the top.  I heat embossed it with Metallic Gold Sparkle embossing glitter. Dabbing with your finger creates a distressed ombre look over the image.  I then die cut it out with the co-ordinating die and popped it up on foam squares.

I used the Taylored Expressions sentiment Welcome to the Neighborhood heat embossed in WOW! Metallic Rich Pale Gold embossing powder.  To finish, I scattered few Honeybee Gold Confetti sequins.

I wish you could see these in real life -so sparkly! Be sure to grab the Italian Trio today!

Jenny
