A Little Note..

Hi!! It's Sandie here with a little inspiration for this month's challenge theme, which is Stars and Stripes. I automatically think of Red/White/Blue, July 4th and the USA when I hear 'stars and stripes' so I decided to steer another direction and I have made a card in sweet pink, blue & yellow using powders from the Pastels collection.

I embossed the background stripes with Pastel Blue and matted it with a pink cardstock. Then I handcut a couple of stars and embossed them with Pastel Pink, adding some blue to the edges. I used the Pastel Yellow for the butterfly, which is from the With Love clear stamp set, and scissor cut it out before adhering it to a double layer of white card using 3D foam dots.

The sentiment, stamped out with Archival Black ink, is also from the With Love set. To embellish I added a couple of buttons flossed with twine.

A Little Note..

Hi everyone!! It's Sandie here today, with some Summer Inspiration for you. This month the WOW! design team are creating Summer inspired projects and my take on it was to use HOT colours,

Taking some white card I heat embossed French Music with Clear Glossembossing powder. I used Dylusions sprays and Glimmer Mist to create the background. Being the impatient type that I am I used my heat gun to dry the sprays and then lightly rubbed a damp baby wipe across the music notes to remove the colour.

I used the Butterfly and sentiment from theWith Love clear stamp set - I heat embossed the butterfly with Primary Bark and coloured the wings with distress inks. The sentiment has also been stamped out with distress ink and cut out with Nestabilities.

Don't forget, you can enter our Wow challenge of Summer to be in with a chance of winning 6 embossing powders of your choice!
Have a great day! Sandie xXx

Make a Wish...

Hi!! It's Sandie here today with a little WOW Inspiration for you. This month our theme to follow is Nature and here is what I came up with.

I love this Make a Wish stamp set and thought it was perfect for the theme. I started off with a white card base (105mm x 148mm) and layered on a slightly smaller piece of kraft card, leaving a white border all around. The I cut another piece of white card slightly smaller than the kraft. I used a mix of glimmer mists and spritzed the card. If you're as impatient as me you can use your heat gun to dry the mist spray rather than wait for it to dry ;)

Once I had dried the mist spray I took some Primary Bark embossing powder and added the Dandelions. Then I stamped out the sentiment, also in the set, with black memento ink.

Memory Box - Story

Hi guys! It's Sandie here today with an inspiration project for this month's challenge, which is Altered or Recycled Art.
I altered a papier maché circle box to make a Memory Box - perfect for childhood keepsakes.

First I painted the box with white acrylic paint using a baby wipe to achieve a distressed look. While that dried I made some resin flowers using Melt-It, White Pearl Powder and Pomegranate Powder. To make the flowers I use foil cases, a peg to hold the foil case (it gets hot!!) and my heat gun.
Once the paint had dried I covered the box with patterned papers, sanding the edges. Then I layered up an inked bingo card with leaves which I'd heat embossed with Olive embossing powder. I stamped out the little girl from the Child's Play clear stamp set.

I then layered up the flowers before adding some green velvet ribbon and some white peals .

Mother's Day Delights

Hi!! It's Sandie here today with a little WOW! Embossing inspiration for you. This month our theme is Anything Goes and you can find all the details on entering our challenge over on THIS POST
I just LOVE making cards with coordinating treat boxes. They are so easy to do and they make such a wonderful gift. We've already had Mother's Day in Ireland the UK but it appears the rest of the world will be celebrating on May 12th.

For the card I started with a pink base - sized at 105mm x 148mm. I used Victorian Velvet distress ink and the Vintage Wallpaper background stamp to create the bottom panel and I used an embossing folder for the design on the top panel. The butterfly is from the Simply Amazing clear stamp set and I've stamped it out with distress ink and heat embossed it with clear gloss powder before trimming it out with a scissors. The 'Happy Mother's Day' sentiment is from the Everyday Sentiments set

Again, I used Victorian Velvet distress ink a…

A Little Love for February

Hi guys! It's Sandie here with a card I made following our February theme, which is
 ROMANCE/LOVE
I made a simple Black and White card and added splashes of purple and red.

I used the Love Beyond Measure stamp set, stamped out the LOVE with Dusty Concorde distress ink and heat embossed with Clear Gloss embossing powder. I stamped out the entwined hearts, which are also in the set, with Fired Brick ink. Then I cut it out using Nestabilities labels dies.

To embellish I added a large Prima flower, some rose buds and flowers I made using the Melt-It Powder and powder from the Sugar n Spice kit

I also want to share a card I made for last month's theme, which was ICE & SNOW, but due to my dodgy internet connection it didn't make the blog. It does have the word LOVE on it so I guess it ties nicely with this month's theme ;)

Merry Merry Christmas

Hi everyone! It's Sandie here today with some more Christmas inspiration for you. If you haven't entered our Christmas challenge yet you have just a few more days to do so. You can find all of the details HERE. Remember, you MUST use heat embossing and/or some WOW products to qualify for the prize.
My card features the new background stamp, Blizzard, and I've heat embossed with Sparkling Snow to create the background. It's so sparkly and shimmery :D  I adhered it to the card base with 3D foam and layered up a little bit of white lace on the front, adhering it with fabric glue.

Next I used Green Glitz, Metallic Gold Sparkle and the Christmas Tree from the Deck the Halls clear stamp set. I had cut the tree once I had embossed it and adhered it with some 3D mounting foam.

For the sentiment I used the Metallic Gold Sparkle. The stamp is from the Merry and Bright clear stamp set. This too is adhered with 3D foam so my card has loads of dimension to it.

Spooky Halloween Treat Bag

Good morning everyone!! It's Sandie here and after a hectic summer I am back with a cute SCARY project that I want to share with you.
We all love die cuts and the general rule is to cut them out and stick them down onto our projects. They add just that little extra to your creations - however, heat embossing your die cuts brings them into a whole 'nother world. There are so many options from just one layer embossing to embossing/stamping to the cracked glass effect.
Each element of my 'scene' has been heat embossed....

A side view of the treat bag. You can add goodies inside... or maybe even ghastlies ;)
I used Black Glint on the house to make it sparkle

The 'moon' has been heat embossed 3 times with Mandarin and then stamped on using memento black ink and Funky border Strips clear stamps. For the bat I used ultra high black.

A little close up of the shimmery house....

For the tree I used Clear Semi Dull. I didn't want it glossy, trees aren't shi…

Call Me

Hi everyone! It's Sandie here and today I would like to share a card I made for this month's theme "Best of British" This typically wouldn't be a colour combo I would use so I was definitely out of my comfort zone but nevertheless I am happy with how it turned out.

I heat embossed the blue script background and trimmed it out, then tied some red/white bakers twine around it. before mounting it on 3D foam. I did the same thing for telephone box. As I had no coordinating red card I simply used my red embossing powder to make some for behind the sentiment. That too is mounted on 3D foam so this card has tons of dimension.
Of course I can never finish a card without adding some pearls just for an extra touch of bling ;)

Happy Birthday Cupcake

Hi everyone, it's Sandie here with my Earthtone project, which is our inspiration theme for this month.
Don't forget we have our monthly challenge for you to play along with, and you can find all of the details about it HERE.

For my card I used an olive green cardstock base. I created my background by using Paprika embossing powder and the Funky Border Strips stamps. For the sentiment I used Olive embossing powder, also from the Earthtone range, and the Everyday Sentiments clear stamps. For the cupcake I used the Paprika to tie it in with the background. The sentiment has been mounted onto 3D foam.

To embellish I adhered some satin ribbon strips across the top and some jute behind the sentiment. I tied some bakers twine around the sentiment and attached a watch charm.  I also mounted some flossed buttons onto 3D foam dots for extra dimension to the card. The game ticket is from Little Yellow Bicycle's Get your Game on Ticket Book.

Sister Tag

Hi everyone. It's Sandie here and it's my turn to spread a little inspiration using WOW! products.
Today I have created a 'Sister' tag. I inked the tag with distress ink before stamping the backround using Call Me clear stamp set in Brushed Cordoroy ink.

I then heat embossed one of the cute images from the Child's Play clear stamp set with Bright White embossing powder and trimmed it out. I adhered it to a kraft die cut with 3D foam dots.

The sentiment is from Simply Amazing clear stamp set and I also used Bright White on that. To embellish I added some velvet ric-rac and green satin ribbon.

Simply Amazing Cameo with a Burst of French Music

Hi everyone! It's Sandie here again and today I would love to share a card I created with the fantastic new stamp sets now available in the WOW! Embossing store....
... but first I must wish you all a very happy {Lá le Pádraig} ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!
In line with this month's DT theme and colour palette I have used Pastel Purple embossing powder to make my Mother's Day card.

For the background, the stamp set I used was French Music. I trimmed it down and matted it onto some lilac cardstock. The frame and cameo are from  Simply Amazing. - I hand cut around the frame, matted it onto lilac cardstock and handcut around that. Then I mounted the cameo onto a white doily using 3D foam dots and adhered the doily down on to the French Music background.

To embellish I've added some purple ribbon and coordinating flowers, finishing with 5mm self-adhesive flat backed pearls on the ribbon.

We have an easy challenge for you this month, you don't even have to create anything! Ju…

Gratitude

Hi everyone. It's Sandie here and this is my first DT post for WOW! Embossing. Today I am sharing a card I made using some fabulous fluorescent powders and the Gratitude clear stamp set.
I'm not typically a Clean and Simple kinda crafter but I really wanted to show the fluorescent colours against a clean white background and I really love how the colours pop out.

First I stamped the Gratitude sentiment and heat embossed it with Fluorescent Tickled Pink powder. Then I stamped/embossed the flower (Fluorescent Blue) and fern leaf (Fluorescent Green) and trimmed them out leaving a white border all around them. I adhered the leaf onto the card behind the sentiment, mounted the sentiment on 3D foam dots and adhered that to the card. Then I also mounted the flower onto 3D foam dots to ensure there  is loads of dimension.

To finish off I added some 3mm white pearls under the sentiment and in the centre of the flower.
Well I do hope you enjoyed today's post. Thank you so much …
