Nature's Abode - Altered Mixed Media Tin

Hey everyone! It's Fran here with today's WOW! inspiration and this month I have a cute altered tin lid to share with you.

I was inspired by the beautiful colours of Spring and the mix of rustic textures mixed with soft pastels and flowers.

I have used the Flights of Fancy leaves stamped onto acetate with WOW clear embossing ink then sprinkled the leaves with Under The Sea, Bluetiful, White Pearl and Metallic Copper powders. I then melted the powder to create a 3D warped effect, as the acetate distorts with the heat and sets into a realistic shape once cool.Stamping details have been added to the background paper using a stamp from the Sparkle & Shine with clear embossing ink and Opaque White powder.

For the "nest" I mixed Melt-It powder with Metallic Copper and Opaque White powder to create a beige colour and poured onto a heat resistant mat in a swirl. The little vellum butterfly has been coloured with an embossing pen and highlighted with Bluetiful embossing …

Create with WOW: my wall canvas art

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my first post in 2015!
This is Irit here and I just want to wish you all a very Happy New Year!

This is a month of home deco/OOP projects  and I made a steampunk canvas with a word I picked for 2015: Create.
So now let's see the project.
This is a kind of " steampunk art" made over canvas with a lot of mediums and a lot of WOW! EMBOSSING POWDERS.

I used masks with texture paste and then added a mix of embossing powders over the wet steampunk shapes. The mix ofBlackEbony regular powder,Black Glint and Blue Glitz made this effect over the masked images.
The chipboard piece was covered with Metallic Copperpowder and then totally embedded into clear embossing powder with a drop of brown re-inker to get this clear glass look.
Each metal and chipboard shape was also covered with Clear  Gloss embossing powder  for the glossy look, but mostly the anti dust issue as we are talking about on the wall project.
Here and there the small po…

My notes in Monochrom

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here again  with a small tutorial and  quite a big project. This time I am going to show you a bit of technique I used to make this altered book cover for my new art/memory journal.  The chipboard parts are Tando Creative kit- easy to use and to made your own  altered book. And this is a technique I used here: combo of stamping, heat embossing and painting , all in one. Step 1: Stamp a pattern over metallic  cardstock. (It works over real metal sheets too, but I was short of those).
Step 2: Heat emboss your stamped patterns withClear embossingpowder

Step 3: Paint the embossed cardstock with a mix of gold, copper and black acrylic paints. As you can see I use the cheap, craft store paints and not those fancy acid free paints for this cover. Wipe the paint until you have a thin layer  of it left over the stamped image and you like the color. If not- add more of the  paint you want to be seen .

Step 4 and the last: Those 4 squares here  were made just a…

Live, Learn, Discover - Altered Notebook

Hi! It's Sandie here today with my take on this month's Antique theme, for which I altered a Notebook
For the background I used scraps of papers which I ripped and distressed with Brushed Corduroy ink. I embossed bubbles on the papers with Metallic Gold embossing powder. Then I layered up some lace and ribbons. I cut some cards from the papers, distressed the edges and layered them using 3D foam on some, for extra depth.

I punched some butterlflies, inked the edges and added a single champagne coloured pearl to each of them.
I made a selection of flowers from the Silicone Molds and Melt-it powder. I also added some paper roses and cherry blossoms.

I also added some Metallic Gold Rich to the postcard behind the main sentiment. To complete the layout I added some more champagne pearls.

Wish upon a star

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here with this month challenge and it's STARS AND STRIPES.

I know, stars and stripes are usually this American flag things, but as I am not an American, I just made a lovely small arch deco with red, black and gold colours and a lot of WOW! Embossing powders.
This is an easy and well known technique of making stripes with double sided glue tapes and the only thing it takes is time.
Just begin from the lower corner, add a small glue strip, fill with WOW! powder and heat emboss it. Then cover the already embossed stripe with a piece of paper, glue another glue strip over it and.. You sure understand the technique.
The stars (and the basic arch shape ) are from Tando Creative UK chipboards and heat embossed with a mix of gold and glitter WOW!powders.
The separate arch frame was also heat embossed with Ebony Black  powder and then the central striped piece was inserted into it.
Some bling touches (FWAB) and this piece was done.

Now it's your …

Recycled Jam Jar

Hi everyone, it's Sarah here with a project that I have made for this months Wow challenge; Altered or Recycled...

I started with an empty jar of jam... I will have to promote a specific product now as I don't know of any other jams that use this beautiful shaped jar but I knew when I bought this that I would be using the lovely glass jar for something... (oh, and by the way, the jam is yummy too! ;)

First things first... Peel the label off and run the glass jar under hot soapy water to remove all label residue. Make sure the jar is completely dry before heading onto the next step...

I had already selected the stamp that I wanted to use... since Wow introduced this beautiful wild flowers stamp as part of the Wow 'Collage' stamp set, I have been waiting for the perfect use for it and decided it would probably work quite well on this project.

I thought about leaving the glass clear and stamping the pattern onto the glass but decided I would use the end product as a cand…

Alter an old frame to a lovely Sping project

Hello, my dear crafty friends! Spring is here and as spring is all about innovation, I decided to give my old and ugly frame a new lovely embossed look. Here is my final result- Spring all around as you can see.

The frame was white painted and dirty, but I didn't even clean it too much, just covered it with a Wow Versamark Inkpad and made some  heat embossed layers all over it.
The first layer was with  WG03 Green and it was too shiny. So I added more embossing ink over it using Wood grain CWS stencil and  WJ02 Honeyembossing powder. And it was too shiny and yellow after all. So I covered the  whole frame with more  ink and added  WH03 Evergreen powder.
Bingo! The  wood grain texture is seen under the upper powder layer and I like the colour much more.

The inner frame is Tando Creative, covered with   some  green paint and then I stamped a few white heat embossed doodles over  with WL01 Bright White Regular embossing powder.
All flowers are  covered with a mix of pink( Pastel pin…

A lot of Love with WOW!

Hello, my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here again and this month we challenge you to make Love projects.
Also Valentine Day is over for this year, but I want to share my Valentine Mixed Media project made with WOW! Embossing Powders and Tando Creative chipboards.

First I covered all  bare grey chipboards with white pigmented ink (Clearsnap) and let them dry a lot. Then I covered them with  Cardinal Red, Apple Red and Pink Pastel embossing powders and I made it 3 times over each embossed chipboard. Then I added a thick layer of Clear embossing powder over them and the mix of hot melted powders gave us this unique look. Braille powder has been formulated to raise to the exact height that allows braille text to be read. Also used by Crafters for jewellery decoration by melting it in a pot or stamping into it for de-bossed effects. I just used it for the enamel glossy  mixed colored look, but you should try all other effects too as this is "Must" powder in your collection.

Hello Winter!

Hello. my dear crafty friends! My name is Irit  and this is my very first post here, also for a year I was on Wow Embossing Powders USA team, so I am not new to those gorgeous WOW! products at all.
This month is a month of Ice and Snow  in our blog. Ice and snow for Israeli girl? We hardly see snow once in a lifetime. But as I design  only for out of Israel companies, I do have great winter products to design with and today I am going to show you  my "Hello, Winter" wall deco full of Wow! Embossing Powders stamps and powders.

The basic part of this deco is this 30*30 cm (12*12'') chipboard piece from Australian A2Z Scraplets company. It was a long way to make this board to look like it is now: each part of it was covered with Versamark embossing  ink and heat embossed with a lot of WOW powders.
I usedMetallic  Silver Sparkle , Azure, Pastel Blue and Neutral Ultra Shimmerin a mix and most of them were double or triple embossed.
Then I made this  inner stamped circle…
