I Love Sparkles

Hello crafty friends I hope you're all well. I can't believe we're nearly at the end of February already, where has this year gone?

Here is my inspiration for this month's "Everything  Sparkly " challenge. I enjoyed this project immensely as I got to have a play with the wonderful new Sparkles range.

For the background of this card I stamped the words from the Wall Art stamp set  in black ink. I then used Peachy Keen and Pumpkin Spice Sparkles on other images from the set to create the rest of the background. Sparkles aren't an embossing powder so you need to stamp your chosen image with an Ultra Slow Drying Ink Pad and use bonding powder over the top. Melt the powder then apply the Sparkles on top while still tacky, simple!

After inking over the background with turquoise ink I stamped hearts from the Hearts & Twine stamp set and used Coral Beach Sparkles on top.

Finally I used Santorini Sparkles on the sentiment from the Mr Wow's Wonderful Words…

Winter Wonderland

Hello crafty friends, where has this year gone? I can't believe this will be my last blog post of 2016. So....as the theme for this month's blog challenge is "winter" I just couldn't resist one more Christmas card!

I've combined a die-cut village scene with Marion Emberson's 'Let It Snow' Stamp Set. I embossed the snow scene and the trees with a mixture of  Opaque Bright White, Pastel Glacier Mint and Iced Silver Glitter WOW Embossing Powders.

The stars were embossed with Metallic Silver and the sentiment with British Summer regular powders. I covered a button with Under The Sea Glitter for a final sparkly flourish.
I would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a crafty new year!

Box It Up

Good morning crafty friends! I hope you're all well getting inspired by our challenge this month. It's always nice to make something instead of a card and I really enjoyed making this cute gift box.
I found a template on the internet and stamped the main body of the box with the Brocade stamp which I embossed with Metalline Violet powder.

I added strips of double sided tape around the lid and covered it with Violet Flock. I die-cut flowers for the top then triple embossed them with Clear Gloss powder and then folded the petals back to create cracks. I mixed  Pistachio Glitter with Melt-it Powder and poured into a heart silicone mould to make the embellishment.

Finally, I stamped the tag with the Just Saying stamp set using Metalline Violet powder and tied it to the top with a contrasting baker's twine.
I hope you enjoy this challenge, see you next month,

Let's Get Festive

Good morning crafty friends, I hope all's well in your crafty worlds! It's that time again where I get to use lots of fabulous WOW! products and create something for the blog challenge. This month the challenge is to use one stamp in three different ways.

I decide to use the Let It Snow stamp and I started by stamping snowflakes for the background in Opaque Bright White powder which I then gently inked. I then created a shaker element and used Teal Fab Foil and bonding powder for the falling snow.

Finally, I stamped a sentiment on vellum with Metallic Silver powder and added snowflakes either side which I stamped then triple embossed with Clear Gloss powder.
The possibilities are endless with this challenge, I hope you all have a lot of fun with it.
Enjoy! Sarah xxx

An Early Autumn

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well and having a productive month! For the "Anything Goes" challenge  this month I decided to get my inspiration from the changing seasons and created this Autumnal card.

I started by stamping leaves from the Flights of Fancy Clear Stamp Set across teal coloured card which I then embossed with Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder. I then coloured around the leaves with ProMarkers and added a sentiment from the Just Saying Clear Stamp Set.

I then made a cute heart embellishment using Bonding Powder, Metallic Copper and Iridium powders melted and poured into a heart silicone mould. I also added dots with an embossing pen then sprinkled Iridium Embossing Glitter on top for a bit of sparkle.
I hope you get the chance to join in with the challenge this month, I will look forward to seeing what you all come up with.

Floral Inspiration

Good morning everyone, I hope you're all enjoying the summer! I wanted to share a summery card today which is my inspiration for this month's floral challenge. I started by using the Tropical Stamp down the left hand side of white card which I embossed with Opaque Bright White powder. I then gently applied distress ink over the top with a dabber to reveal the pattern.

For the 3D flowers I used the Secret Garden stamp which a embossed with Blueberry Cheesecake Embossing Powder. I then cut out individual flowers, shaped with my fingers and added pretty gems in the centres.

The sentiment is from the Just Saying stamp set which I've embossed with my favourite colour at the moment, British Summer.
I hope this has given you a few ideas, there's still two days to join in the challenge, why not have a go? I can't wait to see what you make.
Have a great day! Sarah xxx

A Summery Make

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well. So, it's been that fun time of the month where I get to create my project for the WOW! Blog. This month's theme was our favourite embossing technique and I went for coloured vellum. I love it as its so pretty and yet so simple!

I started by stamping the Secret Garden stamp with a Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad on white vellum. I then used Opaque Bright White embossing powder over the top then melted with a heat tool. I then turned the vullum over and coloured the back of the flowers with ProMarkers.

I then layered the vellum on white card to really show off the colours and used the Just Saying stamp embossed with Pink Lady opaque powder for the sentiment.  I added a pretty organza bow and placed a small button in the centre that has been embossed with Mermaids Tails Embossing Glitter.
I can't wait to see what you all create this month, enjoy! Sarah xxx

Life's A Beach

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well and getting very creative this month!
As this month's challenge is summer and I live on an island it seemed only natural that my inspiration card would feature sea and sand.
To create my beach scene I started off with a piece of pale blue card and a rubbed a Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad across the top several times. I then sprinkled WOW Peppermint Tea Powder and Under The Sea Glitter over the top, tapped off the excess and melted with a heat tool. I created the sand underneath using Gold Pearl Powder.

For the sea I ran a line of PVA glue in the middle of the sky and sand with my finger, sprinkled with Under The Sea Glitter and melted with a heat tool. For the waves I added small areas of PVA straight from the nib of the bottle when added Opaque White Powder.

The birds and sentiment I have used Opaque British Summer Powder which is one of my favourite new powders, great colour and great name!
Finally, I added beach in…

Spring Has Sprung!

Hi everyone, I hope you have all been getting inspired by all the beautiful makes on the blog this month. As the weather is getting better I thought I would create a fresh, modern looking card for you.

1 Take a 17.5 X 12.5cm square white card blank and die-cut a circle through the front towards the top. Hand draw orange lines around the outside edges.

2 Stamp the Tropical stamp on vellum with a clear embossing pad and sprinkle with Opaque Bright White embossing powder. Tap off the excess and melt with a heat tool.

3 Stamp a sentiment in blue ink,  sprinkle with Midnight Dream embossing powder and melt as before. Cut into two pennants and attach to the left hand side of the circular aperture.

4 Attach the vellum behind the aperture with foam pads. Stamp flowers from the Hey Little Flower stamp set in three pretty colours and emboss with different powders. Layer up some of the flowers with foam pads.
5 Attach two flowers above the sentiment with foam pads. Glue twine to the backs of the othe…

With Love from WOW

With Love from WOW by Sarah Jackman Read
Hi everyone, I'm Sarah and I'm here with my first project for the Wow Design Team. I had great fun experimenting with all the WOW goodies, here's how to create my card.
Create a kraft card blank 13 x 18cm with the fold at the top and run double sided tape around the front edges. Sprinkle with Mermaid Tails Embossing Glitter and melt with a heat tool.
Cut a piece of pink card 12 x 17cm and stamp a central panel with the Chrysanthemum stamp. Sprinkle with Mermaid Tails Embossing Glitter and melt.
Cut white card 11.5 x 16.5cm, stamp the Chrysanthemum stamp through the centre, sprinkle with bonding powder then melt. Lay a piece of teal Fab Foil right side up over the stamped image and lay paper on top. Iron gently or run through a laminator then peel off the foil to reveal the foiled image.
Cut a 2.5cm strip out of the centre of the foiled image and replace with acetate then attach on the pink card with foam pads. Stamp a sentiment from …
