Hello! This month's theme is 'Anything But A Card'... which suits me right down to the ground! I created a piece of home decor using lots of the new products:



The three flowers were created using the new blossom mould. It never fails to impress me just how a quite frankly strange looking mould can produce such an amazing flower! I used three of the new powders to create the flowers, Fairy Dust, Sugar Plum and Silent Night. I mixed each with a little Clear Ultra High powder to make each go just that little bit further!

The wonderful Pick 'n' Mix stamps that Maya has designed are so useful, and I've combined a few of them to create my phrase. I stamped in black ink, then embossed with clear extra fine powder to give the shine...

WOW! Embossing Powder Shop

The theme this month is Antique, and I have to admit I struggled! All things vintage and sepia tones are not my natural 'go to' themes or colours, so this was a tricky one. However.....it's always good to stretch your creativity, so in the end I came up with this...
I've used lots of layers of cardboard, glassine paper and Kraft paper to give a nice 3D look...
As well as ink, I used tiny splatters of opaque vanilla embossing  powder to add detail..
Lots more powders used on the piece too! I used a mixture of gold satin pearl, vintage champagne, earthtone pepper and opaque vanilla on a wooden flourish...
I also created a rose using a fabulous mould, and a combination of Melt It, vintage champagne and gold satin pearl powders!
The result is a gorgeous creamy colour, with pale gold accents and a teeny touch of glitter!
I also gave an old key the embossing powder treatment, opaque vanilla again with some gold satin pearl on top...

Hi!  Jen Matott here to share a little altered project that I did with a wooden pencil box, WOW Metallics and some silicone molds!   I painted the box and lid with black craft paint and let dry first.








 Then, I grabbed my Prima gears stencil and applied Helmar Crackle Adhesive Step 1 with a foam brush by dabbing.  After it dries, it remains sticky. That is important because you need the embossing powders to stick! I started with the Metallic Gold regular WOW Embossing powders and then used the Metallic Copper regular over it to create a swirl of metallics. They stick to the adhesive and heat up to create a gorgeous surface!

 I did all four sides like that on the outside of the box. I decided that I wanted to embellish the lid with flowers and other metal pieces.  Using my Melt It pot, I added some of the WOW  Metallic Silver Ultra thick embossing powder and allowed it to melt completely.

It's been awhile but we're back with some fun new projects for you!  I have a piece of art that I made using WOW Metallic Gold regular embossing powder and Sierra Sunrise embossing glitter.  Using brand new Prima papers from the Divine collection, I created this paper tea cup, banner, and hot air balloon sculpture.  
After constructing the parts (saucer, cup, handle, layers, balloon, banner, and posts), I wanted more sparkle.  So, I used VersaMark to roll the posts in, which are skewers, and then apply Sierra Sunrise to it.  I love this embossing glitter!  It's so sparkly and adds the perfect amount of shine.
I edged the balloon and the edges of the cup and saucer with the VersaMark and Gold Metallic Regular.   It was the perfect touch to this girly project.

But first, let’s start with our showcase designer this month, Donna O’Leary, the infamous midnight scrapper. The Designer's Showcase is a chance to show us the best, favorite techniques in a project of the designer’s choice.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and it is a cause that is near and dear to me. My mother-in-law and aunt are both breast cancer survivors of 10+ years!  I recently lost a classmate that was the same age as me to breast cancer.  Even though I had not talked to her in many years, it hit home how awful this disease is and devastating it is to families, friends, and colleagues.  We need to raise money to help fight cancer!  I bet each of you know someone who as battled, is battling or lost the battle to breast cancer!  So, as a tribute to those individuals, I made a plaque to remind us all to keep calm & journey on!  It's a journey to carry on, fight or just give support to those that are facing a challenge like this.
