Merry Christmas - Watercolour Card by Susanne

Hi my dear crafty friends!

I have a Christmas card with you to share! It's never too early to start, so you don't have to hurry in December. This card is really easy to recreate and it can be made with nearly every kind of stamp for any occasion.

I started by stamping a pattern with one of the leaves from the "Flights of Fancy" stamp set. I embossed it with Gold Rich Powder. I did the same to a piece of vellum.

I coloured some of the leaves with my Gansai Tambi watercolours. But any kind of watercolour will work for this resist technique.

I cut a "Merry Christmas" from cardstock which was covered with double sided tape. This is an easy way to foil your die cuts! Just expose the sticky side and press the foil onto it. Rub it gently with your fingers. I used WOW! Fab Foil Gold.

Finally I build up my card. I cut the background with a stitched frame die, added some gold splatters (Aztec Metallics from ColourCraft) and adhered it to the card base. The vellum is cut down to a nice size to blend the sentiment banner with the background. To let the "Merry Christmas" pop out even more, I layered it on top a black die cut. I added some wooden stars for a little more interest.

Thank you for stopping by today!
Have a nice and crafty week.
xx Susanne.

  1. These gold embossed leaves are so pretty Susanne on the background with the pretty colouring, and then a great contrast with just the gold embossing on the vellum. I adore the gilding flakes on the sentiment too, and backed with the white banner it really pops. x
