Mixed Media Artist Trading Card by Susanne

Hi there!

Susanne here today and I have to share a mixed media Artist Trading Card. An ATC is a handmade card that measures 2.5 by 3.5 inches. They are meant to be for trading.
I do not trade at the moment, but I love creating those little pieces of art. Sometimes I use them in my art journal, in mini albums or to decorate a greeting card.

Here are the step by step instructions:

Let's start with the butterfly. It is made with the Triple Embossing Technique.
After I inked up the chipboard butterfly with embossing ink I added one layer of Primary Bluetiful Powder to it. In my next step I added two layers of Neptune Embossing Glitter. I melted the powder between each layer and added the next layer of powder immediately on top while the powder was still hot.
I did this also with three more layers of Clear Gloss Ultra High. After I heated the last layer I pressed the "Go Figure" stamp into the melted powder and let it sit there for about one minute.

The ATC background is a dry embossed piece of kraft cardstock. I inked up the highlighted areas with embossing ink and added a mix of Metallic Perissa and Golden Flame to it.

I covered the whole card with DecoArt media Antiquing Cream. After it was dry I wiped away the paint until I was happy with the result.
Finally I inked up the edges with Distress Ink Walnut Stain.

Now it is time to add some die cuts. I used left over papers with a Brusho background and sprinkeld some black liquid watercolour onto the leaves. Finally I  arranged them together with some white and silver thread under the butterfly.

To get some more of a shabby vintage look I added white liquid watercolour to the finished card. I used Sparkles "Your Carriage Awaits" together with Glossy Accents to highlight some areas.

I hope you like my artist trading card.
Have a wonderful week!
xx Susanne.
